Sourced from a neighbouring village, this oak piece has been turned on a lathe from green wood. Once finished, the piece was left to dry naturally, allowing the piece to find its form. Once dry and stable, the piece was painted with a mixture of steel wool and vinegar. This formulation reacts with the tannins in the oak to change its natural colour: an alchemical process.  A final process of brushing, then waxing completes the piece. 20 cm diameter x 14 cm tall
